This event led to the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
