Trump's Organization Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Work Permits in 2025

The former president’s family business accelerated its hiring of overseas employees on temporary visas this year, while his administration was placing obstacles for other companies wanting to do the identical, a report published recently stated.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the business sought to hire at least 184 overseas employees in the coming year for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for staff including waitstaff, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the organization, and increased from 121 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in more than 100 foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, according to available data.

The revelation coincides with a tightening on legal immigration by his administration that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; increased review of the activities of the millions of people who possess American work permits; and tighter regulations for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the business aimed to employ 566 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this week for remarks justifying the necessity for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend $10bn to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after it was implied that foreign workers lower the wages of US workers.

The administration refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
