The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a record £11m in prize money.

She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a new level".

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the arrival of her first child and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after starting the season ranked outside the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
• Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after capturing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after reaching five finals.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third time.
