Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
