The Miami Heat recorded 86 opening half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies
Miami Heat claimed a crushing 146 to 114 victory over the Grizzlies in their initial basketball match after player Terry Rozier was detained for suspected illegal sports betting.
Trail Blazers head coach Billups was also detained as part of a broad federal investigation into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the claims.
But, the Heat were not distracted as they put up eighty-six first-half scores to be ahead of Memphis by 39 after two quarters, the largest half-time advantage in the team's 37 year existence.

"Our thoughts are with him and our care for him as he faces the situation."
The Trail Blazers also won their initial match since the detentions, with Brazil-born Splitter stepping in as interim coach in Chauncey's absence and guiding the team to a convincing 139-119 win over the Warriors.
"We all had positive times with Billups and how he coached," Splitter said. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' over Arrests
Addressing the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver stated he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the recent days.
"There's nothing more important to the NBA and its fans than the fairness of the game," he told a broadcaster. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."
The commissioner further said an NBA investigation into the player's conduct in spring 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he participated for the Charlotte Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.
"It was brought to our attention by the authorities and the betting companies," he added.
"We then looked into the matter and were very transparent regarding it. And while there was that aberrational betting, we, honestly, couldn't find anything.
"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the NBA can't do.
"Therefore, we've been cooperating since then. Naturally, what they revealed recently was an charge.
"And two and a half years later, he has not been found guilty of any offense, in fairness to Terry.
"Clearly, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise in this case between upholding rights and investigating."
