Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the team in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match following making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
