David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
